Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, $113,995
Like the BMW X6, Mercedes’ AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is another utility vehicle that prioritizes style over function. Matching its nemesis from Munich, it too can reach mile-a-minute velocity in 4.1 seconds. A bi-turbo 5.5-liter V8 provides the motivation, 577 horsepower to be precise, while a seven-speed automatic transmission ensures that output makes it to all four wheels through a performance-tuned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Base price is around 114 grand, a figure that includes $995 in destination charges.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo, $125,850
Next up, another German road-rocket, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. This five-seat SUV shows its taillights to the GLE 63 S Coupe, blitzing to 60 in 3.9 seconds. Looking for something a little bigger than a Cayenne yet still audaciously expensive? Well, seek no further because the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 is the ride for you! This three-row behemoth is graced with 577 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of twist, more than enough of each to haul around up to 98 cubic feet (2,775 liters) of cargo and rocket to mile-a-minute speed in 4.5 seconds. This rig stickers for more than 127 grand, a price that mercifully includes delivery, which is an additional $995.
Tesla Model X Performance with Ludicrous Mode, $137,000
But you don’t necessarily need internal combustion to enjoy stupid speed as the Tesla Model X proves. Opt for the Performance version of this all-electric SUV, which starts at 108 grand, and then check the box for Ludicrous Mode, which tacks another $20,000 onto the sticker price, and you’ll have a big, honkin’ utility vehicle that can hit 60 in an absurdly brisk 2.8 seconds. Terminal velocity is 155 miles an hour (250 km/h). Estimated driving range is just shy of 290 miles.

Mercedes-AMG G 63, $148,495
Back to Mercedes-Benz for a moment, because this fabled luxury brand offers an even more expensive SUV than the GLS 63. The AMG-ified G 63 is an absolute beast both on road and off. Blessed with 577 horsepower there’s not much it can’t handle, from outrunning sports cars on the drag strip to climbing the tallest of mountains, this latest Geländewagen is one of the most capable vehicles around. Priced at right about $150,000 including $995 in delivery fees it better be!

Maserati Levante Trofeo, $170,000
Next up, an Italian thoroughbred. The Maserati Levante Trofeo starts at around 170 grand. What does that get you? Well, how about a 590-horsepower Ferrari-built V8 and top speed of 187 miles an hour! All-wheel drive is, of course, standard for enhanced traction in all conditions.
Lamborghini Urus, $200,000
The Urus isn’t Lamborghini’s first SUV, but it’s unquestionably the Italian brand’s best. With a fire-breathing 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 under its hood, this family-friendly vehicle is endowed with 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Those kibbles and bits rocket the Urus to 60 miles an hour in less than 3.6 seconds. As for top speed, this thoroughbred maxes out at 190 miles an hour. With style, drama and surprising function, what’s not to love about this thing? Well, perhaps the base price, which is around 200 grand.

Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase, $209,495
What country builds the most-expensive SUVs? Well, based on our top-three finishers here the answer would unquestionably be Great Britain. The Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography Long Wheelbase (Phew! That’s a mouthful.) features a supercharged V8 delivering up to 557 horsepower. It rolls on gigantic 21-inch wheels and has seating for up to four very lucky people, who will be coddled in absolute luxury. Base price for this high-performance, top-shelf, extended-length beauty is just shy of $210,000, including $1,295 for, you guessed it, destination charges.
Bentley Bentayga/Bentayga Speed, $250,000?
The Bentayga is Bentley’s first-ever SUV. Imposing and powerful, it offers unparalleled performance and luxury. The base version stickers for right around $200,000, but the recently announced Speed model is likely going to cost even more than that. Will it be a quarter of a million dollars? Your guess is as good as ours. With a W12 engine cranking out 626 horsepower, this British brute can accelerate to 60 miles an hour in just 3.8 seconds!
Rolls-Royce Cullinan, $325,000
Finally, we come to what should be the most-expensive utility vehicle available today, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Lest you think this illustrious brand was immune to the SUV craze, the folks in Goodwood have seen fit to introduce an elevated wagon of their own.
